These sturdy chairs are made from a large aspen that was milled by a friend from his woods just south of Birch Lake.  The bark has been retained on the live edge for a unique look.  The wood shows holographic qualities in spots, very beautiful large knots and some spalting.  These are the first prototypes that we built using the live edge slab construction.  It is easy to see these chairs will not let you down, they are solid.  Set comes complete with back cushions.  
Aspen dominates most of the forest land in our area now because it is so quick to outgrow other species after logging.  It becomes a very hard wood once dried and needs to be kept dry since it is prone to breakdown out in the elements.
Finished with oil-based polyurethane.  $800, tax included.
